Specification of connected points in a (branched) pipeline (Input Table)

Data description/conditions:

IDENT1:

Point of pipeline to be connected to point indicated by ident2

Must be from list of existing idents specified in tables ORIGIN, POLYDIF only.

IDENT2:

Point of pipeline to be connected to point indicated by ident1

Must be unequal to ident1 and from list of existing idents specified in tables ORIGIN, POLYDIF only.

CONNAME:

Name of connection

Unique / Only required when TEE-REF is defined, otherwise optional

(This is just a name.)

Note : The maximum number of connections is 160.

TEE-REF:

Reference to tee specified in tables TEECONF and TEESPEC (DF3.1)

Required for a Tee only, must be left blank for all other connections

(The connection is assumed to be a tee as specified in said tables. Stress intensification factors are calculated and applied by the program according to ASME B31.8, appendix E. See table TEEFAC in Design Function 5. IDENT1 and IDENT2 must be polygon points without bend radius. Branch of tee must be perpendicular to run.)

Additional conditions:
 

a) All Fixed connections (no Tees) only may have 2 connecting idents, so one row in the table.
b) Tees can either be defined by 2 connecting idents or 3. With 3 connecting idents both rows should have the same CONNAME and TEE-REF.

c) Only Fixed connections can have more than 3 connecting idents. In case of more than one row all CONNAMEs should be equal.

d) An exception on c) is that when one row has a CONNAME and the others are left blank, the CONNAME is used for all connections.

e) All CONNAMEs must be unique.
 
There is no check on equal CONNAMEs and IDENTs. It is allowed, although not recommended.
