List of data for bend elements only (Output Table)
Data description/Result options:
ELEM:
Number of bend element (n)
BENDTYPE:
Bend element type
There are seven distinguished types of bend elements:
Smooth bend |
This is a smooth non-mitred bend element |
Short segments |
S < 2 l1 Mitre kinks always do influence each other 1 |
Medium segments |
S ≥ 2 l1 but due to a smaller angle of rotation the kinks do influence each other 1 |
Single mitred (series) |
S ≥ 2 l1 but due to a larger angle of rotation the kinks do not influence each other (or with a single kink) 1 |
Straight |
These are straight pipe elements within a mitre bend 1 (Only in combination with Single mitred series.) |
Closely spaced |
S < W (NEN 3650 specific) 2 |
Widely spaced |
S ≥ W (NEN 3650 specific) 2 |
FLEXCHAR:
Flexibility characteristic
(This value is calculated as t·R / r2)
(For smooth bends R is the actual bend radius,
for closely spaced or short or medium spaced mitre bends R is the equivalent bend radius and
for widely spaced or single mitred (series) R is the kink radius. The R is also reported in table BENDFAC's column RADIUS.)
FLEXFACT:
Flexibility factor
(This value is the same as 1/K from table BENDFAC)
SIX:
Maximum stress intensification factor in axial direction
(Maximum multiplication factor for longitudinal bending stresses.)
SIF:
Maximum stress intensification factor in circumferential direction
(Maximum multiplication factor for circumferential bending stresses)
1 Only in case the Analysis Type is 'General'.
2 In case the Analysis Type is 'NEN 3650-2' and all other types.
