Specification of neutral or real top soil load (overburden) along pipeline axis (Input Table)

Table description:

Through the input data table SOILNB the weight of the soil on top of the pipe (overburden) along the pipeline axis is provided to the cross-sectional model.

The value of the soil parameter is attached to each mid-element section by relating the coordinate of that mid-element section to the polygon data line and interpolating the parameter values at the adjacent reference points.

Coordinates of successive data table lines shall have increasing values. The values given for the soil parameter are interpreted as 'mean' values. These values are multiplied with the uncertainty factor UNCF and the load factor LOADF if specified.

According to NEN3650 the neutral/real top soil load is a primary loading. In case of NEN3650 calculations the load factor should be 1.0.

The soil parameter NB is treated in a similar way as the soil data described under function 3.2, the soil model.
