Main classes of soil type

According to NEN 6740 the Soil Model Wizard distinguishes five main categories of soil types: gravel, sand, loam, clay and peat. The calculation process however only recognizes two categories of soil types. Following NEN 3650 there is a class of sand types and a class of clay/peat soil types. The Soil Model Wizard assigns gravel and loam soil types to the class of sand types.

For graphical representations the Soil Model Wizard uses a different texture for each main type of soil. The textures used follow the NEN 5104 conventions.
