Installation method of pipeline
[Default: Trench uncompressed fill]
(The installation method can be set to 1)Trench uncompressed fill, 2)Trench compressed fill, 3)Boring and 4)HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling).
The installation method is used in calculation of the Downward vertical soil stiffness [KLS], Horizontal bearing capacity [RH], Passive soil reaction [RVT], Pipe-soil friction [F] and the displacement at maximum soil friction [UF]. The choice between compressed and uncompressed trench fill decides whether the normal or compressed shrinkage percentage is used.)
In sections where a Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) installation method is defined, the pipe-soil friction (F) is set to zero and the displacement at maximum soil friction (UF) is set to 8 mm as if the bentonite is weak clay.
In sections where a non-trenching installation method (boring or HDD) is defined, the upward vertical soil stiffness (KLT) is made equal to the downward vertical soil stiffness (KLS).
Deformation speed of soil
[Default: Slow deformation]
(The deformation speed can be set to 1)Slow deformation or 2)Fast deformation.
The deformation speed differentiates clayey/peaty soil into drained or undrained for respectively slow or fast deformation. This effects the calculation of the Horizontal bearing capacity [RH] and Sub-soil bearing capacity [RVS].)
