PLEedu 4.9.0 released

The educational PLEedu version 4.9.0 has been released. This program is a free, functionality-reduced version of the professional PLE program.

PLEedu can be downloaded here and used freely to gain a good insight into what the fully-featured PLE program can do. At the download page, an overview of the restrictions of this educational version is also shown.

Note however that this program may not be used for any actual pipeline projects, as it is limited in scope and functionality and calculation results are not verified. Also note that this program is still property of EDS, it is copyrighted and not open source, so modifying, disassembling, reverse-engineering, etc., are not allowed. Furthermore, automating/scripting its usage (using e.g. AutoHotkey) and making it a part of an automated computing chain is forbidden.

The new version 4.9.0 contains all improvements, modifications and adaptations of the professional PLE version 4.9.0, where applicable.

The main highlights of the new release are:

• The program has been rebranded to PLE from Ple4Win, together with a new logo.
• Axial buckling and Implosion moment calculations improved and expanded.
• Detailed import from the secondary database implemented.
• Program stability improvements.
• User interface and user experience improvements.
